Is it the time to enter RIMM?
Now the stock has tumbled to PE=10. The extremely worst case CAGR=10%. Blacksberry still rules American cooperate market, while iPhone4 is growing and has no CDMA for Verizon. Also BB are very popular among Asian youngsters.
Let's share the ideal !

I think this kind of stocks also depends on market's mood. In US, people see RIMM is losing its market share.... eventhough the company gains high growth in other part of the world...But , still, PE = 10...
Market's think that RIMM might not have any potential growth ??? Should we believe it ???
However, if there is no growth , Mr. Market will punish it cruelly , Let's see STX , PE = 3 and WD , PE = 4

RIM shares fall on warning, charges
BlackBerry maker’s PlayBook tablet sales continue to disappoint
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Shares of Research in Motion Ltd. fell Friday morning after the company warned it would fall short of its earnings target for the current fiscal year owing to lower shipments of its Blackberry wireless devices, as well as charges related to a large service outage in October and disappointing sales of its Playbook tablet.
The stock fell more than 9% to $16.87 by late afternoon. The shares are down more than 70% for the year to date.
“This wasn’t surprising based on our checks, which show that their devices are weakening,” said Scott Sutherland of Wedbush Securities.
Sutherland added, however, that RIM still appears to be clinging to its vertical integration strategy of controlling both the software and hardware — an approach that has been a big winner for Apple Inc., which has become one of the most dominant players in the smartphone market with its iPhone.
“That race is lost,” Sutherland said of RIM’s ability to compete with Apple.
Regarding the PlayBook, the Waterloo, Ontario-based wireless device maker said it shipped about 150,000 units of the device to retailers during the third fiscal quarter ended Nov. 26. RIM plans to report full results for the quarter on Dec. 15.
This was a further drop from the disappointing 200,000 units shipped in the previous period, which was less than half the number expected by Wall Street analysts at the time. The PlayBook is RIM’s first entry into the media tablet market that has been dominated by the Apple iPad and has gotten an additional boost from the high-profile launch of the Kindle Fire from Amazon.com last month.
Low demand for the PlayBook is forcing RIM to further discount the device. The company also said it will take a pre-tax charge of about $485 million for the recently ended quarter for its “inventory valuation” of the device.
“As previously disclosed, RIM has a high level of BlackBerry PlayBook inventory,” according to the statement Friday morning. “The company now believes that an increase in promotional activity is required to drive sell-through to end customers.”
That discounting has already taken place. The PlayBook is currently being offered for $249 at Amazon — nearly half of its original $499 price. Best Buy is selling the tablet for $199 on its own Web site. The Kindle Fire from Amazon — which sports a similar 7-inch touch-screen and body design — sells for $199.
Part of the PlayBook’s problem has been on the software side. It is the first RIM device to use the QNX operating system that the company is developing for its future line of smartphones. But the PlayBook still lacks the ability to do native e-mail, and RIM missed a promised software update for the device in October; that update is now expected early next year.
“We do not believe RIM can cancel its Playbook tablet program because its the QNX foundation operating language bridge to its new phones needed for carriers, developer, and enterprise testing and acceptance,” wrote Jim Suva of Citigroup in a note to clients on Friday.
“We are still shocked the Playbook does not have native email functionality and this shortcoming is an indicator that QNX is not progressing as planned, in our view,” he added.
RIM also said it shipped about 14.1 million smartphones in the November quarter, in line with its previously guided range of 13.5 million to 14.5 million. But adjusted revenue for the period is expected to be “slightly lower” than it’s previously guided range of $5.3 billion to $5.6 billion, which the company attributed to product mix and the low PlayBook sales.
The company also said unit shipments for the current fourth quarter will likely be lower than the preceding period. As a result, the company said it no longer expects to meet its adjusted 2012 target of $5.25 to $6 a share. Wall Street analysts expected the firm to earn $4.59 a share in 2012, according to a survey by FactSet Research..
Suva wrote that the company’s comments about fourth-quarter device shipments are “as a material negative that many are overlooking.” He maintained his sell rating on the stock and cut his price target to $15 from $20.
RIM has recently launched new handsets for its updated BlackBerry 7 operating system, designed to hold over the market until the launch of QNX devices next year. Jeff Kvaal of Barclays wrote that the company’s fourth-quarter comments may be implying a weaker-than-expected performance for the BB7 handsets.
“Weak BB7 demand places even greater pressure for RIM to execute crisply on the QNX launch, and RIM’s recent track record is poor,” Kvaal wrote.
