เรื่อง p/bv นั้น ถ้ามีสองบริษัท

บริษัทแรกมี bv 10000 ล้านแล้วมีกำไรสะสมแค่ 500

คุณภาพก็คงไม่เท่ากันนะครับ
เพราะว่าอีกบริษัทมีแต่ทุนจดทะเบียน แต่อีกบริษัททำกำไรสะสม
ได้ยาวนาน ซึ้งสามารถจ่ายปันผล หรืออะไรได้อีกหลายอย่าง

และการที่ tpipl มี p/bv ต่ำก็เพราะว่ามีการตีราคา asset ใหม่ 33000 ล้าน
บริษัทอื่นๆ เขาไม่ได้ตีราคาใหม่ ก็อาจจะทำให้ p/bv ดูสูงซึ้ง
ก็เพราะบันทึกบัญชีไม่เหมือนกันนี้

I'm not sure that I'm wasting time posting my comments or not. But wadda heck... It's a discussion forum and we're supposed to "discuss", right?

1) TPIPL mainly used COAL (not oil!) in their cement business, I think. While, prices of oil and coal usually go up and down together. It's not necessary true. You can't mix the two together.

2) I believe business of this size usually makes a long buying contract to lock in the price of RM, rather than let their costs fluctuate. So, if COAL price reduction will benefit TPIPL, you will probably have to wait until the current contract is over. It could be even as far as the end of 2008.

3) IIRC, 30%-40% of TPIPL income comes from petrochemical business, namely plastic raw material. Did you take into account of how crude oil price effects their plastic business ? I thought over the past year, TPIPL got great deal of benefit from the rising price of oil. Basically, TPIPL maintains the same NPM and same amount of sale, but their net income and bottom-line profit increases.  Do you care to share your thought on this?

4) In the same manner, what about SCC or SCCC? They should beneft from this also, right?

5) Didn't you conveniently forget to mention the 6900 million baht ?

6) "TPIPL" ..... Do I need to say more?

Btw, i don't understand any of the graph, except price has come down a lot. One thing i know is that it doesn't mean it should go back up. Do you want to explain more?
